CASA of El Paso

MISSION

  • CASA of El Paso trains and supports volunteers from the community to advocate for abused and neglected children who need representation in the family court system, striving to provide them a safe and permanent home.

A VOICE FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED
CHILDREN IN COURT

Every year more than half a million abused and neglected children are in need of safe, permanent, nurturing homes. Too many of these children spend years moving from one temporary home to another without a family to call their own.  As adults, they are more likely than other children to face homelessness, unemployment, and even prison.

That's where CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) steps in. National casa was created in 1977 by a judge in seattle to make sure the abuse and neglect these children suffered at home does not continue as abuse and neglect at the hands of the system.

As trained advocates, CASA of El Paso volunteers are appointed by judges to be a voice for abused and neglected children in court. The result is the children are placed into safe, loving homes where they can thrive.

If your heart has been broken too many times by the tragic stories of abused and neglected children, it may be time to take a positive step and make a real difference in a child’s life.

CASA of El Paso is currently helping two thirds of the children in foster care; yet there are approximately 300 children that need our help.  With your help, we’ll be able to make sure these children are placed in safe, loving, permanent homes.

If you, a friend, or a relative would like to learn how to become a voice for a neglected or abused child, or a presentation on CASA contact the casa office at (915) 546-8146 ext 1 or pkeller@epcounty.com
